Managing Partner

Daniel Shkolnik knows that making smart investments involves taking calculated risks, hiring top talent, executing with precision, and operating with honesty and integrity. Daniel possesses ten years of bi coastal real estate experience in multifamily, commercial and residential assets and has completed over $100 million of transaction volume. His responsibilities include overseeing our management platform, identifying and structuring acquisitions and focuses on the firm’s growth across divisions. Mr. Shkolnik holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and is also actively licensed by the Bureau of Real Estate. When not working late hours, he loves adventure and enjoys playing sports such as tennis and hockey, and learning about his favorite era in history, the industrial revolution.


Managing Partner

Brandon Blum is a 14-year veteran of the real estate industry with deep expertise of the multi-state southwest region. Brandon has successfully acquired and managed 1,500+ units and deployed more than $100 million in equity. Brandon’s key responsibilities include sourcing acquisition opportunities, drafting deal level business strategy and establishing strategic relationships. Brandon is also actively licensed by the Bureau of Real Estate. In his free time Blum enjoys sports, traveling and has a passion for reading.


Accounting Manager

Mitch Lescault is responsible for all financial matters of the company and works closely with landlords and capital partners to ensure proper investment reporting and accuracy. Mitch also spearheads asset level cost savings strategies and is responsible for fund control on all large remodel and reposition projects. In his free time Mitch loves surfing, playing basketball, and watching documentaries on business and history. You can also easily convince him to join pretty much any sports league even if it’s softball.

Scott Palka is an experienced and effective executive leader with sixteen years of C-suite experience and ten years of Big 4 consulting experience. Scott’s specialties include: negotiation, governmental contracting, international operations, derivatives, options, credit agreements, utilization, intellectual property, banking operations, logistics, purchasing, ERP, system design and implementation, refinancing, raising capital, turn-arounds and highly-leveraged environments.

Robin Eagon

Project Manager

Robin Eagon, our general contractor, has more than 25 years of experience. He has the uncanny ability to keep projects on time and on budget. What sets Robin apart from many of his contemporaries is his unique ability to simultaneously keep a laser focus on project details without over complicating the task at hand.


Director of Operations

Dan Recob has 13 years of bi coastal real estate experience and is responsible for overseeing day-to-day business operations of the property management division. Dan is the primary point of contact between all parties on new management contracts and acquisition opportunities being pursued by the company. In his spare time, Dan enjoys outdoor activities including cycling, tennis and hiking. He is a novice cook and is often found with his nose in an epic sci-fi novel. Having been raised in Sonoma county, Dan is a lifelong fan of the Golden State Warriors and San Francisco 49ers. Dan is actively licensed by the Bureau of Real Estate.


A/P & Compliance Officer

Daisy Shkolnik is responsible for compliance, accounts payable, data entry, source document verification and is a crucial part of our three-tiered accounting process. Daisy is also actively licensed by the Bureau of Real Estate. On her spare time, you can find Daisy chasing her nephews around the beach, reading or rocking out to an organized exercise class.


Property Manager

Mylena Vigil has spent more than 17 years in the real estate trenches developing a thorough knowledge of the property management industry. Mylena brings to the table a vast array of knowledge of HUD and Section 8 guidelines, as well as an intimate knowledge of fair housing and landlord/tenant laws. Fluent in both Spanish and English, Mylena has the ability to clearly communicate with the people she serves. Mylena’s hobbies include cooking for her friends, spending time with her son and dancing salsa.

Denise Dibisch is an 11-year real estate industry veteran who heads up our Student Housing division. An enthusiastic and goal-oriented professional with a proven track record in managing residential and commercial properties and support services, Denise has a thorough understanding of city regulations, RHOP’s, and Status B parking requirements.


Office Manager

Jessica is the quarterback of our management organization — and when she is not greeting our clients over the phone or face-to-face, she is keeping our team happy, healthy, well-fed and most importantly, caffeinated. While Jessica ensures the first impression of SBMI exceeds our client’s expectations, she is simultaneously working behind the scenes to ensure each team member has everything they need in order to provide our clients with the best service possible, 100% of the time.


Maintenance Technician

Enrique Cobian has over 25 years of construction experience and is our lead maintenance technician. Enrique’s experience with plumbing, drywall, painting, framing, flooring and general facility maintenance ensures that maintenance issues are handled quickly and efficiently.
